Jenn and Blake

Jenn came to me with a vision...simple, vintage elegance.  We incorporated lots of textural flowers in muted shades of ivory, cream, straw and palest peach.   Jenn collected many great pieces of vintage lace and other items for the wedding to create a unique and totally personal experience.  In fact, after her own wedding, Jenn was so inspired that she started her own rental business featuring an assortment of vintage items and eclectic finds.
Check out her amazing collection at Brossie Belle.

Susan and Greg

Susan and Greg were married in an intimate ceremony at the charming Danforth Chapel on the KU campus in Lawrence. The color scheme was white, black and bright green...and we focused on the magical inky black centered white anemones, white star of bethlehem, white tulips, milky way aspidistra, bush ivy berries, white hydrangeas, with vibrant accents of chartreuse green fugi mums in sleek and modern arrangements. The reception was held in Pachamama's Blue Room in downtown Lawrence.

Holly Davidson with Simple Elegance coordinated the details of the day--she's amazing!

Many thanks to M&C Studio for these fantastic images that really capture the joy of the day and Susan's beautiful flowers.

Laura and Clifton

Another wonderful August wedding--thankfully the weather cooperated and it wasn't too hot! Laura custom designed this amazing couture gown for her big day. Her full skirt was a flutter with feathers--very Sex in the City! We complimented her dramatic gown with chic white flowers that included hydrangeas (her favorite!), phaleonopsis orchids, star of bethlehem, David Austin garden roses, and freesia for touches of fragrance. The bridesmaids wore custom navy shantung silk dresses and carried simple bouquets of white hydrangeas accented with sprigs of spring green foliage and touches of deep blue viburnum berries. We banded their bouquets in a contrasting fuchsia silk dupioni for a modern pop of color.

Many thanks to Adrienne Maples for these amazing images!

Jessie and Joey

You can't beat a June wedding...what a perfect day! It was one of the happiest weddings we did this summer. Full of smiles, joy and fun.
We focused on a soft and romantic color scheme full of blush pinks, ivory and touches of spring green--incorporating the bride's favorite flower (and one of my personal favorites) peonies! We also used lots of hydrangeas, ranunculus, spring green hypericum berries and bells of Ireland with twists of organic curly willow, loops of grass and ferns for a natural touch.

Fantastic photos courtesy of Portraits by Lucinda.
